We’re proud to start 2026 with the news that the King’s New Year Honours List includes an award closely linked to Boleh’s work.  Four years ago the Trust delivered one of the very first courses on the successful Royal Navy Recovery Programme, designed to support Sailors and Royal Marines recover from serious injuries and illnesses.  The driving force behind this initiative was Warrant Officer Angie Cheal who developed a programme of some 80 recovery courses annually, including the ‘Boleh Sailing’ element.

Angie was responsible for a programme which, in the words of the citation for her MBE, ‘had a direct impact on some 1,000 Servicemen and women and laid the foundations to support many more.’  We are honoured to be playing a small part in the success of this programme and congratulate Angie on her award.  As the picture of her on Boleh’s foredeck with an early recovery course shows, Angie worked closely with the Trust and even joined us when HRH The Princess Royal visited Boleh in 2022.
