Approaching the Season, we’re proud to celebrate the professionalism and dedicated service given to Boleh over the years by volunteers Chris Laws, Toby Marris, Mark Minshull, and David Hadfield.

With much regret and many thanks for his chairmanship and focus on achieving value, we announce Chris’s reluctant retirement for reasons of ill health.  While Toby, Mark and David step back from their full time roles as Trustees and Project Team members, we’re pleased they will remain advisors to the Trust.

Looking ahead, we welcome new Trustee, Bruce Snelling.  Bruce, pictured in Boleh’s cockpit with grinning crew, has been a volunteer Skipper since 2021 and takes over as Lead Skipper from Vice Chair Richard Metcalfe.  Assisted by Ocean Yachtmaster and former ASTO General Manager, Lucy Grodie, the Trust has put together another comprehensive charitable sailing programme.  This will bring Boleh’s ‘Can-do’ experience to young people, those facing challenge and members of the Armed Forces.

To deliver this programme we rely on, and are very grateful for, a wonderful team of professionally qualified volunteer Skippers and Mates.  We thank veteran volunteers John Tweed, Robert Randall and Chris O’Connell who retire this year.  Meanwhile, we continue to recruit and are always on the look out for further volunteers who can make such a difference to troubled lives.  Some of the faces mentioned above can be seen on social media here, including Boleh’s first cohort of volunteer skippers and mates.
