Last month saw the start of Boleh’s ever popular day sails from Haslar Marina for children of Service families in the Portsmouth area. Funded by our generous donors, the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, this year’s programme has so far enjoyed glorious sunshine but suffered a lack of wind. Despite this, local Schools – including Springwood Junior School (pictured) – made the most of their time onboard. We were also delighted to find one day to demonstrate the scheme to organisers and Service parents.
Reporting on the first set of sailing days Karen Baldwin, Aggies Charity co-ordinator for the programme said, “The children and staff had the most amazing time – thank you so much for giving us these wonderful experiences.” Our thanks to all those supporting Pompey’s Military Kids and we look forward to the next part of the programme. In the meantime, Boleh will shortly set off for Portland and her annual rendezvous with the Chesil Sailing Trust and Dorset Schools.
